A Celebration as Big as Texas

After building the largest semiconductor plant in the United States, our client asked us to create a grand opening celebration that would celebrate the partnership between the US and Korea and its continued leadership.

Kicking off the festivities with a concert at the VIP Gala the night before, country singer Lee Ann Rimes then launched the official daytime Grand Opening Ceremony by singing the National Anthem while a bald eagle soared over the crowd of thousands. Twelve Texas Rangers on Palomino horses drove a spirited parade with a 48 piece marching band and 15 University of Texas cheerleaders who fired-up the crowd.

After presentations from Governor Rick Perry and corporate executives from the US and Korea, electronic solenoids “cut” the enormous ribbon surrounding the new plant, while the band delivered a thundering anthem, a pyrotechnics display erupted over the building, and the corporate fountains burst into action. In a final flourish, four flags unfurled in a burst of color across the front of the building representing the brand, the U.S., Korea, and the City of Austin.

Heavy local, national and industry press focused on the spirit-filled presentation and the interaction of all the partners that made the plant a reality. We received praise for our ability to raise the celebratory bar for this historic event.
